Decisions and impact:
The results indicate that admission and registration remain the most prominent barriers to enabling persons with disabilities in education. Accordingly, APD, in cooperation with relevant entities, will raise awareness on admission and registration mechanisms through various methods to ensure a smooth enrollment process and maximize the benefits of early intervention. This will be complemented by support services for the transition from general education to higher education, to prepare students and ensure they overcome potential challenges.
1. Issue a report with recommendations, including tailored recommendations for each university according to the challenges faced by its students, along with the necessary support to ensure these challenges are overcome.
2. Intensify awareness of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law among university staff by conducting awareness workshops on the Law—particularly Article (8)—to ensure admission opportunities to higher education and postgraduate programs and pathways.
The survey is scheduled for completion by the end of Q4 2025, God willing, and is expected to have a significant and direct impact on improving educational opportunities and ensuring equal opportunities for students with disabilities.
