The Authority of People with Disability (APD) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Museums Commission. The agreement aims to foster collaborative efforts in capability development, technical expertise, and knowledge empowerment that are of mutual interest to both sides. This will be accomplished by utilizing strategies, studies, standards, guidelines, and statistics. It also targets improving physical and digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities at all museums overseen by the museums commission, as well as the pursuit of mutual advantages through disability-related awareness and education. The memorandum of understanding is the result of both parties' desire to collaborate and coordinate to achieve common goals within the framework of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and executive programs, which aim to empower individuals with disabilities, promote integration and inclusion, and enrich visitor experience. The MoU also seeks to educate museum workers on how to interact effectively with individuals with disabilities, as well as provide sign language training to museum tour guides.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Hisham bin Muhammad Al-Haidari, CEO of the Authority of People with Disability, and Mr. Ibrahim Al-Senussi, the acting CEO of the Museums Commission. The agreement is part of the APD's efforts to enhance the role of integration and coordination with different sectors in order to encourage and support individuals with disabilities in achieving their goal of social inclusion and participation.

The Authority of People with Disability serves as a comprehensive umbrella for all matters pertaining to individuals with disabilities, in collaboration with a variety of sectors. In order to achieve an inclusive and harmonious society, the APD endeavors to improve the participation of individuals with disabilities in a variety of development programs, guarantee their access to disability-related rights, and actively engage them in different kinds of activities to promote their independence and empowerment.
