As part of a series of field visits to various regions to review services provided to persons with disabilities and explore ways to enhance them, the Authority of Persons with Disabilities (APD) conducted a visit to Al-Jouf Region during 15–16 July 2025, led by APD Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Heidari, accompanied by a number of APD staff members. The visit included Jouf University, where the CEO met with the University’s Vice President and several officials. The meeting reviewed efforts to support students with disabilities by preparing an inclusive campus environment, providing assistive tools and technologies, increasing admission rates, expanding suitable academic majors, and enhancing participation in university activities. The parties also emphasized the importance of improving the quality of educational services within a comprehensive and motivating academic environment. The delegation also visited Al-Jouf Health Cluster and met with its CEO and a number of officials. The parties reviewed the healthcare service ecosystem available to persons with disabilities across Al-Jouf and its affiliated governorates, including rehabilitation, treatment, and integrated healthcare services. They discussed opportunities for cooperation to develop these services, raise their quality and efficiency, and ensure universal access. The visit further included Al-Jouf Disability Club and the local branch of the Disabled Children’s Association to review educational, social, and rehabilitative programs provided to persons with disabilities and to explore ways to enhance them and improve service quality within an inclusive environment that promotes integration. This visit reflects APD’s commitment to on-the-ground assessment of services provided to persons with disabilities across the Kingdom, and to strengthening partnerships and integration with relevant entities—contributing to higher efficiency and quality of services and advancing toward an inclusive, enabling society with equal opportunities for all.
